De första konturerna av vår storsäljare F1 såg dagens ljus redan 1987, det vill säga, för 30 år sedan. Vårt företag hade fått i uppgift av FMV/Flyg att ta fram en ny överlevnadskniv för det svenska försvarets piloter, ett verkligt spännande projekt. Vi började med att fälttesta ett större antal knivar, både slid- och fällknivar, de allra flesta från välkända, välrenommerade tillverkare från USA, Europa och Japan. Märkligt nog, ingen höll måttet! Flaskhalsen var den svenska vintern som satte gränserna för vad som var möjligt.
