CRKT HZ6
CRKT HZ6

Made for the modern warrior. Paying tribute to the hira-zukuri—a classical Japanese straight sword—knifemaker James Williams brings us the HZ6. Hailing from the 8th century, the original hira-zukuri style blade was first popularized in daggers and utilized as a powerful “short” sword for survival and everyday use. And just like its origin, the HZ6 is purpose-built for real life warriors, only now designed to meet the demands of the modern world. High Performance Steel: SK-5 carbon steel holds an edge well Strong and Useful: full tang provides strength Enhanced Protection: black coating improves corrosion resistance Exceptional Grip: G10 handle provides grip in all conditions Gear Compatible: Durable Boltaron® sheath with mounting options Honoring the classical Japanese straight sword, the HZ6 derives from the ancient hira-zukuri blade style, which features no ridgelines whatsoever. But the true power behind this tactical knife’s smooth blade surface is the ability to accomplish impressively clean penetration across whatever surface it meets. And since the blade is decked in protective coating to diminish rust and corrosion, you’ll have less to worry about when brandishing the blade in rougher or wetter weather.  And what’s in its name? The first two initials stand for “hira-zukuri”, while the numerical “6” refer to the mighty 6.5” blade. But its size isn’t the only thing to fear—constructed of tough SK-5 carbon steel, slashing and puncturing comes second nature to the HZ6. Even the knife’s handle pulls from Japanese influence, the handle’s carved x’s representing the traditional wrapping of a sword. But it’s not only for aesthetic purposes—designed for delivering a tremendous grip for cold, wet, gloves or gloveless hands: there's added durability with each strike and blow. Paired with a well-fitted sheath, utilize the holster’s clip to keep it extra close on your belt, or slip a lanyard through the opening at the base of the handle.  An excellent choice for combat or tactical defense, the HZ6 makes it easy to be a modern-day warrior.

CRKT Siwi
CRKT Siwi

Built by a hero, refined by an expert. Retired Sergeant Major, Darrin Sirois channeled experience from 25 years of active duty into the creation of his original design. The knife world loved it. Then, renowned expert, Chris Williams made several small suggestions. The revisions boosted the SiWi™ compact tactical fixed blade into a league all its own. This is collaboration at its finest. If there’s one thing that Darrin Sirois has learned from his time overseas, it’s that if a tool can’t endure some of the most extreme conditions imaginable, it’s not worth having on hand. So when he was in his Fayetteville, North Carolina shop, designing the knife that was to later become the SiWi™, his mission was singular: make it last. Then Chris Williams stepped in. He’s a master of aesthetic, and with several small tweaks, together they elevated the SiWi™ to a design force to be reckoned with and gave it a name that reflects the collaborative process. Match made. This mission-ready fixed blade is a compact powerhouse. Though that sounds like a paradox, the proof is in the incredibly stout modified drop point SK5 carbon steel blade. Finished with a non-reflective and highly resistant black-powder coat, it’s built to last, a quality that’s equally as evident in its unique G10 handles. The handles match the 3.3” blade in its compact-yet-stout capacity with texture for a strong grip even in the grittiest conditions. The subte jimping on the back spine finishes the look and feel. Finally, the glass-reinforced nylon sheath stands up to its counterpoint when it comes to utility with many different carry options. When two great minds converge to create a knife, you know it’s going to be good…the SiWi™ far exceeds expectation. Complete with a protective sheath that features multi-carry options, this knife’s ready for transport at a moment’s notice. Stationed off the Euphrates, it was in the city of Ramadi where inspiration would strike knifemaker Darrin Sirois. Pulling from his Special Ops background as a Green Beret, Darrin drew from his knowledge and firsthand experience in military weaponry to design the Ramadi™, a combat-ready knife proudly featured in the Forged By War® series. Bring along the Ramadi™ as your handy sidekick for even your toughest mission. About the Forged By War® Program In 2013, Ryan Johnson of RMJ Tactical, designer of elite, military, tactical tomahawks, approached CRKT® with the news that he had been working with a few combat veterans that had returned from war with varying degrees of post-traumatic stress (PTS). To help work through their challenges, they have been designing and forging steel into custom tools. Drawing from their experience earned in combat situations, they have been creating tools they wished they had available to them in the battlefield. CRKT® cares deeply about our returning veterans and we saw a way to give back to the community that created them. In 2016, we launched the Forged By War® program. These are mission ready tools, designed by veterans, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the veterans' charity of choice.

It is also equipped with a hard metal "skull crusher" appendix. The knife's overall weight is just 87g. Designed for professional use, the knife emphasizes ease of carrying, accessibility, and extraction in case of need. Expanding the prominent line of outdoor fixed blade knives, Alan drew his latest inspiration for the Minimalist® Katana from his Facebook community group. Coined originally as the “Katanamalist,” Alan set out to take the Minimalist® and its fan-favorite features to a whole new level. Coming in at 3.56" in length, it’s the largest blade in the Minimalist® series yet. Constructed of high-carbon stainless steel, there’s added thickness, guaranteeing it’ll be up for whatever challenge thrown your way. Modernized by being slightly thinner near the belly and more chiseled toward the tip, the blade tackles utility tasks on the go or around the workshop. Made for precision, this blade pierces easily, the thicker ground behind the point of the blade aiding it to effortlessly glide through surfaces.  The polished resin-infused fiber handle is built with ergonomic choils for a secure grip. A versatile sheath is equipped to work as a neck knife, so you can slip it easily onto a belt, or attach to gear. Hang on tight. The Minimalist® is back at it again.

Extrema Ratio Contact - Ranger Green
Extrema Ratio Contact - Ranger Green

Extrema Ratio developed the first knife of a new production line, called CONTACT. It has a blade with a lance-shaped profile, a flat grinding and a diamond-shaped geometry. It has got a lower guard branch to protect the hand from accidental cuts, upper jumping to improve grip, a concave fuller along the entire length of the blade and a generous thickness blade (6.30mm) All these details make the Contact the elder brother of the now famous Requiem, revisited in proportions and in some technical features. The first of a new line of multipurpose knives. The blade is made in Böhler N690 steel with a hardness of 58 HRC and a chemical burnishing coating for the Black version. All other colours in production have got a blade with Stone Washed finishing. The handle is still in forprene . It is no more assembled by the side screws but thanks to the shank in truncated cone-shaped stainless steel that is screwed to the bottom and goes to fit inside a special seat, which makes it solid. In this way the knife is well balanced. The sheath is minimalist: most of the fabric has been cut off: it has got a 2nd level retention system, remembering the style of the model it was inspired by. The main shell is injection-molded in shockproof nylon. The secondary retention system is reversible for ambidextrous users. The blade is guided into the sheath thanks to its cone shape that lends itself well to the rapid insertion and extraction of the blade. To extract the blade, a pressure on the trigger will be sufficient, thus releasing the safety that holds it securely in the sheath. In the horizontal slits of the sheath a system is added, which fixes the blade to avoid shaking noises when it is stored inside. The back side of the nylon sheath is M.O.L.L.E. compatible. The textile part is reduced to its minimum and has got the classic two-button safety strap with a belt loop and a thigh band with rubber reinforcement for anti-rotation. Extrema Ratio aims at this new line by minimizing thickness and size of the knife, but not saving on structural strength and safety accessories.

Extrema Ratio Dobermann IV S600
Extrema Ratio Dobermann IV S600

DOBERMANN IV represents the evolution of the first and most classic Extrema Ratio K1 DOBERMANN model. Since 1997 the DOBERMANN model has undergone notable aesthetic and design changes based on the evolution of taste and trends, while maintaining a line consistent with the original designs. DOBERMANN IV makes flexibility of use and structural resistance its main characteristics. DOBERMANN IV S600, like the model from which it derives, is a multi-role gun that can be used for hunting, survival, camping and military use. The blade has a "drop point" shaped tip while the central part has a "recurved blade" profile. The grinding is carried out flush with the surface. This particular geometry of the blade allows the DOBERMANN IV both to make precise and clean cuts on materials such as cordage, wood and foliage and to find easy use in typical Bushcraft and Survival jobs such as batoning and chopping. Unlike the other DOBERMANN IVs this model uses Böhler S600 steel. This material is used in industrial production to make metalworking tools and in mold making. The high content of molybdenum, tungsten and a good presence of vanadium in its chemical composition give it excellent qualities of hardness, wear resistance and toughness. The presence of Cobalt favors the formation of small, uniformly distributed carbides, a characteristic that enhances and increases wear resistance. The blade of the DOBERMANN IV S600 is hardened and cryogenically treated, thus reaching an exceptional hardness of 64 HRC. This gives it great resistance to wear and the ability to guarantee the cutting edge of the wire for a long time. Böhler S600 has 4.5% chromium, making it an oxidizable steel. For this reason, the new Teflon-based coating “EXP DARK” proposed by Extrema Ratio was applied. DOBERMANN IV S600 is equipped with a green forprene handle. A tang protrudes from the handle, acting as a glass breaker, equipped with a slot that allows the knife to be fitted with a strap. DOBERMANN IV S600 is supplied with a cordura thigh sheath, also in green colour, is equipped with a MOLLE system attachment system and is adaptable to both left-handed and right-handed people.

Cold Steel Recon Tanto - San Mai
Cold Steel Recon Tanto - San Mai

There isn’t a person working in the knife industry today that knows more about the Tanto than Cold Steel does. It was, after all, Cold Steel who invented and popularized this knife style in the early 1980’s. We have spent millions of dollars persuading the public, both through advertising and live or videotaped demonstrations, of the Tanto’s many advantages. We have been producing Tanto’s for more than 30 years now, and there is still no factory or custom knifemaker around making a Tanto that can approach the cutting, slashing or piercing power of one that is manufactured by Cold Steel. All of our Tantos feature a deep lustrous satin finish on the hollow ground blade bevels and a contrasting line grain finish on the blade flats. This technique highlights our state of the art grinding methods and emphasizes the Cold Steel Tanto’s unique appearance. In addition, the Tanto’s come with our famous flattened oval Kraton® handle. The oval shape provides a solid grip and resists rolling or twisting in the hand under hard use, the kind that, over time, would destroy a lesser knife. The use of Kraton® in knife handles is another Cold Steel innovation. Kraton® is an unparalleled space age material that won’t crack or rot and is immune to the ravages of bad weather. The tapered, solid steel pommel is another important Tanto feature that should not be ignored. Lynn Thompson designed it to concentrate the full force of a crushing blow in a small area so that even a moderately powerful blow can be remarkably effective in disarming or otherwise incapacitating an attacker. The Tanto series knives in San Mai® all come with a thick, high quality Secure-Ex™ sheath that is sure to give years of hard service and keep your Tanto at your side, ready for action.
